1.1. Empower Young Women as Change Agents

SYL will focus on targeted programming, mentorship, and leadership development to empower young women as change agents, peacebuilders and role models in their communities.

1.2. Address Gender Disparities

SYL will work to address gender disparities and promote equal opportunities for young men and women in all aspects of its interventions.

1.3. Intertribal Dialogue and Reconciliation

SYL will facilitate platforms for young Somalis from different clans and tribes to engage in dialogue, fostering understanding, trust, and reconciliation. Encourage collaboration and cooperation to overcome historical divisions.

1.4. Cultural Exchange and Awareness

Organize cultural exchange programs and awareness campaigns that promote understanding, respect, and appreciation for diverse cultures and traditions. Foster dialogue and celebrate the richness of Somali heritage to build social cohesion among youth.

1.5. Preventing and countering Violent Extremism

SYL Fosters inclusive and cohesive communities through youth engagement and empowerment to prevent violent extremism, promote tolerance, and resolve neighborhood conflicts peacefully. Advocate for Inclusive Policies: SYL will advocate for policies that promote social inclusion and remove barriers to youth participation based on gender, financial status, or other identities.
